I'm sure all of you purists, backpackers, and boom bap fanatics already know that Europe and Japan are now the hip hop hot spots for Golden Era revival music and production. With a deep admiration for jazz and snap-bap drums, beatsmiths from overseas still embody the nostalgic sound that everyone remembers and cherishes.
Kayo, a relatively unknow French producer, has just released a free remix album that features the type of production I was talking about above. Putting his own spin on tracks from J-Live, Talib Kweli, Kev Brown, Jurassic 5, amongst others; Kayo adds a fresh, yet classic, twist on various hip hop tracks we have loved and bumped before.
