A few months ago I was introduced to Los Angeles based duo Hoodini & KinG! through one of my bandcamp hunts. The duo's free debut album, Hoodini & KinG! Present: A California Classic, serves as a perfect introduction to both of their bright futures. Hoodini's methodical flow and back-to-the-basics rhyme schemes command your ear, making his music easy to digest and replayable. Tracks like "Photoshop," "Curbs," "Los Angelez," and "Humble Endings" show not only his poetic prowess, but his ability to make contagious 'underground' music that fans of all backgrounds can connect with. These potent ingredients, when mixed with KinG!'s bright and summery beats, have an alchemist's effect, allowing us to scoop up this free handful of treasure left by The Turban and The Crown.
