Fuzz and Mac- Rescue You

Who said oil and water never tastes good together?

Augusta, Georgia bred MC Fuzz Jaxxon has once again merged muses with Seattle, Washington Trip Hop/Jazz vocalist McClain Sullivan to bring us one of the most refreshing collaboration releases of 2009, Fuzz & Mac's "Remember This."

The duo originally met while offering their talents to the former jazz fused hip hop band, Organix, earlier in the decade. After years apart, chasing their own artistic dreams in separate parts of the country, fate reared its magical hand and re-connected the perfect pair in the same town they met: Wilmington, North Carolina. Their artistic re-connection brought us 2008's "Together Again"; a funky, soulful EP that spotlighted the duo's organic chemistry.

Recently, Fuzz and Mac completed their sophomore release, Remember This, which is available (I think) online, but I can find a valid buy link for. Below are two tracks from the album, as well as 1 track (In the Evening) from their older album.

Just checked out the singles. The vocal content is impressive while the production on "Carolina Sky" is kind of weak. "Rescue You" was a nice change in pace, yet again, the production was a bit bland. It reminded me of "hotel" music that gets played in a lobby. "In The Evening" definitely caught me by surprised and compared to the other two tracks, definitely blows them away. It would be interesting to see these guys with some better production supporting them. They have smooth delivery, deep content and themes, and the combo of the two works quiet well. Come with better beats and you'll definitely get my money for an album.

I disagree completely with the review above. Carolina Sky had a vibe to it that opened up the album as the first track.. giving you exactly what the title wanted you to get from it.. a nostalgic feeling that can only be described by the feeling of a season change..the heat was rising..its a metamorphic expansion of the other material. Im only describing it with my own biased opinion because I've followed Fuzz & Mac for quite some time.Hopefully by now, there are more tracks out on the web from this album "Remember This..." and the album compliments both of their styles whether you are in a hotel lobby or rocking center stage at a Vans Warp Tour.
