Fresh off the release of his 2009 debut record, Solution, South Korean born producer BLEE connects with some familiar friends-- Othello, Substantial, Supastition, Mainflow, Wise Intelligent, and more-- to bring us an exciting new album full of sporadic jazzy collaborations and instrumental interludes entitled Cosmos Road.

It's obvious who BLEE connects best with (Supastition, Substantial, and Othello) and the obvious  disconnection with the other artists make the record sound confused and out of place at times. Despite the haphazard feel to the album, BLEE continues to grind and provides us jazz heads another cool collection of conscious candy to ride to in 2010. You can't go wrong with these four below.

Substantial refuses to take any time off, returning with his new single, “U Were There (ft. JsouL)”, produced by DMV beatsmith, Joe.D (of Dirty Water). To add even more flavor to the sauce, Big Tune Beat Battle (Seattle) Champ, Marcus D. comes through with an inescapably silky remix that would make Sade proud.

“U Were There” is taken from from Substantial’s forthcoming mixtape, WINK (Something Substantial), which will take listeners on a 10-year journey of Substantial’s music, focusing mainly on his his love/relationship songs. From throwback classics like the Nujabes-produced “Eclipse”, to 3 ALL NEW EXCLUSIVE SONGS to add to the fire. Brian Lee (BLEE) is a South Korea born, Ontario, Canada bred hip hop producer/keyboardist ready to make an impact. In 2009 he did just that, releasing his debut producer compilation LP, Solution, featuring some of independent hip hop's most celebrated acts in: Substantial, Lightheaded (Othello & Braille [No Ohmega Watts]), Main Flow, Supastition, and more. With a raw, jazz induced sound that's reminiscent of the movement that flourishes throughout Europe and Japan, BLEE paints a vintage, yet vibrant picture that all true school fans will enjoy.
