Humble Beast is a brand new hip hop collective based out of Portland, OR and features some of independent hip hop's most humble and hardworking acts, such as: Braille, Theory Hazit, and more. Working hard to get their message and music to the masses, the good people at Humble Beast have released their 2nd compilation record, Humble Beginnings, featuring 10 new tracks that spotlight their entire roster and affiliates' skills.

Humble Beast tells us: "Humble Beginnings is a compilation which showcases new music from the entire Humble Beast roster. Whether you're looking to catch up on the latest music from our Hip-Hop veterans, or wanting to discover what our talented newcomers have to offer, Humble Beginnings will definitely whet your appetite."

Below is a track from the compilation record featuring Humble Beast affiliate Othello, who, in my opinion, is one of hip hop's most talented and overlooked individuals. The Portland MC/Producer sports a solid discography with his work with Lightheaded (Braille, Ohmega Watts, Muneshine) and his two heavily slept on solo albums (Classic & Alive at the Assembly Line).

Fresh off the release of his 2009 debut record, Solution, South Korean born producer BLEE connects with some familiar friends-- Othello, Substantial, Supastition, Mainflow, Wise Intelligent, and more-- to bring us an exciting new album full of sporadic jazzy collaborations and instrumental interludes entitled Cosmos Road.

It's obvious who BLEE connects best with (Supastition, Substantial, and Othello) and the obvious  disconnection with the other artists make the record sound confused and out of place at times. Despite the haphazard feel to the album, BLEE continues to grind and provides us jazz heads another cool collection of conscious candy to ride to in 2010. You can't go wrong with these four below.

Kero One- We Stay Fly ft. Othello & DMinor

Bay Area MC/Producer/DIY connoisseur Kero One started his career on credit, but the days of making minimum monthly payments are over-- he now owns his past, present, and future.

Fresh off inking a deal with a major Asian label, receiving props from Black Eyed Peas' frontman Will.i.am, and touring with Korean supergroup Epik High, Kero One has unlocked his third solo record, Kinetic World; an album inspired by the musicians, crowds, sights, and sounds he connected with on tour. As he says in his song Time Moves Slowly, "Time is ticking, everyone is moving, things are changing, and it's this kinetic world that inspires me to write."

The bright and energetic Kinetic World features 11-tracks that were all produced by Kero One himself. Kero raps, sings, plays most of the instruments, and also adds some of the scratching heard throughout. The record also serves the listener a buffet of styles and vocals from the East, West, and Southern US, as well as Asia, featuring artists such as: Fashawn, Tablo, Myk, Dumbfoundead, Othello, DMinor, The Tones and Sam Ock.

The album was released on June 15th and can be found on iTunes, Amazon, and other online retailers. I have provided two tracks from the album below, as well as a "Making of..." video on the flip side.

Clandestine is when something is "carried out in a secretive manner..." and even though these tracks weren't meant to be released under a cloak, they found their way within the shadows of your iPods.
